“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Lao Tzu

The journey for any parent to raise a child who is vibrant, happy, healthy, and well-adjusted is certainly a bumpy road.  For the parent of an autistic child this road is riddled with huge potholes and detour signs along the way poised to derail any progress achieved. I am here to say keep on stepping!  When you experience setbacks, use them as opportunities to regroup and redouble efforts. When you experience failures, see them as opportunities to refine your practices and make them better.  As parents there is no giving up; there is only moving forward, around, and through.

So today I say, “Keep on stepping!” and that journey of a thousand miles will be a journey of a thousand precious memories.
